Info

Funeral will take place at the Cheltenham Crematorium (South Chapel) at 1.45pm on Friday 1st June. Afterwards there will be a wake in the Panoramic Suite at Cheltenham race course.  Those attending the funeral are encouraged to dress as they please; some of the family will be dressed in running garb!

Parking could be more restricted at the crematorium, hence many will opt to park at the race course and make their way to the crematorium from there. Many will be running from the crematorium to the wake following the ceremony, see here.

The family have requested that no flowers be sent. Instead they ask for donations to be made to a non-profit/charity listed below, all of which Rich had some connection with.

Cheltenham Parkrun:

This was Rich’s local parkrun  where he volunteered his time and also ran. “Cheltenham parkrun is a FREE weekly 5km event for runners of all standards, which takes place every Saturday at 9:00am in Pittville Park, Cheltenham.” To donate to Cheltenham Parkrun, please click here, then click on the ‘Donate to Parkrun’ graphic.

 Papworth Hospital Charity:

Rich received treatment by way of two heart surgeries at this remarkable hospital. Since his operations he supported the charity by way of a one-off donation. Clicking on the image to the left will take you to a JustGiving page where donations can be made directly to Papworth, inclusive of ‘Gift Aid’ if appropriate.

If you prefer to make a donation by cheque, please make it payable to ‘Papworth Hospital Charity’. There will be a donations box on the day. If you are a UK taxpayer, Papworth will be able to make your donation go further if you include a ‘Gift Aid Declaration’ with your cheque.

Help for Heroes:

Since Richard’s passing it has come to light that he was a supporter of Help for Heroes by way of a regular donation. Clicking on the image to the left will take you to a JustGiving page where donations can be made directly to Help for Heroes, inclusive of ‘Gift Aid’ if appropriate.

If you prefer to make a donation by cheque, please make it payable to ‘Help for Heroes’. There will be a donations box on the day. If you are a UK taxpayer, Help for Heroes will be able to make your donation go further if you include a ‘Gift Aid Declaration’ with your cheque.
