Tribute paid to Rich at Gloucester City parkrun

Co-Event Director Farook Mota gave an emotional send off to Rich Walklate; a fellow parkrunner, core team member and one of the founders of Cheltenham parkrun. Rich tragically died last week aged only 33.
Rich was the perfect parkrun role model, always volunteered before he ran himself. The fact that in his 5 years of being involved with parkrun in Cheltenham as one of the founder members and he only ran 95 parkruns is testimony to Rich’s selfless personality. Rich worked hard on course and behind the scenes to ensure that parkrun always happened. After a one minute applause to celebrate all that Rich had achieved and for his dedication to parkrun RD for the morning Cate Lane delivered the run brief which was a bit trickier due to the temporary start and finish.
